Our Team
Lucas - Clinical Orthotist BAS&MCP&O c-OP AOPA
Lucas is a dedicated and accredited Orthotist (c-OP AOPA) who holds a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Master of Prosthetics and Orthotics. Following his accreditation with the Australian Prosthetic and Orthotic Accreditation, he specialised in paediatric orthotic management. In this role, he worked closely with paediatric surgeons to design custom orthotic devices for a range of neuromuscular and musculoskeletal conditions.
His professional focus soon narrowed to bracing solutions for chest wall conditions like pectus carinatum and pectus excavatum. This is a unique specialty with very few professionals in the field. Through his work, Lucas recognised a significant need for more accessible information for patients and their families. The feedback from parents about the lack of resources and clear guidance prompted the idea for a specialist centre focused on providing comprehensive information and evidence-based bracing options for these conditions.
Lucas's passion for helping children extends beyond his clinical practice. His years of experience coaching kids' sports taught him the profound importance of self-confidence for a child's happiness and participation. This drives his commitment to helping kids feel confident in their bodies, ensuring they are not held back from achieving their full potential.
